Ken's practice centers on business law and government policy. He advises clients on corporate matters, commercial transactions, complex litigation, regulatory compliance, and government affairs. He is experienced in representing clients as general counsel and before Congress, the White House, and state and federal agencies, bringing with him extensive professional contacts throughout government.

Before founding KvS Law, Ken was a partner at an AmLaw 100 law firm and chaired its Environment, Energy and Natural Resources practice.

Ken served as the Deputy General Counsel (2004-2006) and special counsel (2002-2004) to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Within these capacities, he provided counsel and advice to the Administrator and senior officials in legal matters as well as the formulation of agency policy. While at EPA, Ken managed a diverse portfolio of high-profile litigation and rulemakings. In addition to the numerous environmental statutes, Ken advised the Agency regarding employment issues, labor disputes, government contracting, grants, Congressional inquiries, and the use of Congressional allocated funds.  

Previously, Ken was the founding partner of a New Jersey-based law firm with substantial insurance defense, real estate, corporate and government practices. He was also affiliated with a full-service government affairs and lobbying company, where he represented clients with environmental, transportation and health issues.
